WIND Mobile’s contest is simple: it asks people, “if you could talk to anyone in the world who would it be and why?”

Today, high school entrepreneurship teacher Barbara McKinnon was given her wish to speak to Canadian business maverick and philanthropist, W. Brett Wilson. McKinnon was under the impression that the conversation would take place over Skype, but was surprised when Wilson arrived in person.

Understandably flattered, Wilson said, “I am honoured that out of anyone in the world Barbara chose to speak to me.”

As part of the contest, WIND mobile will donate $100,000 to the charity of Mr. Wilson’s choosing; he decided to go donate the money to Operation: Western Front to the True Patriot Love Foundation to support their new Outward Bound Canada Veterans’ Program.

This contest seems to have good intentions all around: giving people the conversation of their dreams while donating to great causes such as this. The competition ran from January 24, 2025 to March 7, 2025 and had more than 2,500 entries. The winners were selected by a panel of WIND judges and industry leading bloggers and will be announced over the next few weeks as chosen personalities are confirmed. Check back for future winners.
