One of the most respected news outlets on the other side of the pond has finally officially released their Android app to the masses, coming fully stocked with: quick access to BBC’s top stories complete with pictures, videos, and the option to share stories on Facebook or via email. Other features include breaking news notifications, pre-cache viewing, background sync, and a compact widget for viewing headlines from your home screen. More so - if you are running Android 2.2 with Flash pre-installed - you can now stream live BBC news video content.

Honestly, I’m surprised it took this long for this app to be released. Alas, it has arrived and can be downloaded for free via the Android Market here
