After being urged by the EFF, Apple has supported developers against Lodsys patent lawsuit threats. Bruce Sewell, Apple Senior Vice President and General Counsel, wrote: “Apple is undisputedly licensed to these patents and the App Makers are protected by that license.”

The app development community also seems grateful that Apple has done this and sorted out the bit of anxiety that this must have caused. Lodsys threatened the app community with a patent lawsuit for using in-app purchases.
