Just got word from Mobilicity that they will be releasing a new phone tomorrow, the HTC Panache 4G. It will be available tomorrow (May 18, 2024) for $499.99 at Mobilicity stores and dealers across Canada and on the Mobilicity website. The device is also exclusive to Mobilicity in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary.

This new Android device has also gone by the name HTC myTouch 4G on T-Mobile USA, it is a sleek device running Android 2.3 - aka Gingerbread - with the HTC Sense overlay. It is, as its name implies, capable of running at 4G speeds of up to 21 mps and can be turned into a Wi-Fi hotspot to share the phone’s internet connection with a different device like a tablet or laptop.

The Panache’s processor is a Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon and it has 768MB of RAM. Its screen is a multi-touch capacitative touch screen nicely sized at 3.8-inches with a resolution of 480 x 800. It also includes many of the features we have come to expect from our smartphones these days such as GPS, 720p HD video recording, a 5 MP camera with flash, and VGA front-facing video-chat camera and as a cherry on top it has an Adobe Flash Player.

Using the HTC Sense interface on the HTC Panache 4G users can:

- customize the home screen with regularly used software, contacts and apps

- create different user profiles for business and personal use;

- juggle multiple email accounts with colour-coding and email filters to keep better track of all their information;

- stream contacts’ social network status and updates alongside their photos when they call or text; and

- instantly silence the phone ringer, when required, with a quick flip of the device.

There is also an online interface for the phone which will give users the ability to manage their device’s content from their computer. From that website, users can also remotely lock the phone, forward calls and texts, delete all personal data and even track the phone down using GPS. There is even the ability to access archived content from the phone, including contacts, text messages and the call history.
