This is exactly the kind of news RIM doesn’t need right now. Approximately 1,000 Blackberry “Playbook” tablet computers have been recalled due to “defective operating software.”

Recalls are done all the time but this is a delicate time for the rival of the iPad. We hope that this will not cause the dent in sales that recalls sometimes do. The “defective operating software” could make setting up the tablet impossible. Staples Inc. Stores have made an effort to pull the playbooks that have the particular serial numbers that have been recalled.
