One of the first things I looked for and downloaded when I got my PlayBook was a good RSS app that would import my GoogleReader feeds and sync with GoogleReader so when I got back to my computer things I had already read would be marked as such and only new things would be there for me to read. Thus far, the best one I have found is GeeReader by EPI-USE - and it’s completely FREE too!

The initial version which I downloaded didn’t allow for us to use the app with blogger.com RSS feeds for some reason and had issues with “Marking Unread” but those have both been recently fixed with the update to 1.0.7.

First the positives because I am really, really liking this app and recommend if you read a bunch of RSS feeds per day like me that you download this app immediately:

- I like how the article titles in the article detail popup window is a clickable link. To view the full original article in the PlayBook browser you just click on the article title.

- I like that I can ‘like’ and ‘share’ articles with my GoogleReader friends directly from within the app itself.

- As mentioned above, I love that it syncs with GoogleReader - something I have yet to find a free app to do for my BlackBerry Torch.

- I like that the app will let me play videos (YouTube and Vimeo have been tested so far) from within the app.

Now the things I would like to see changed about the app:

- No portrait mode, landscape mode only.

- No way to cache articles in the PlayBook memory for reading when I have no internet connection.

- No way to only show feeds with unread items.

- No option to email articles.

- No friends’ shared articles are available.
