Earlier this week in my post announcing inside information about updates and features coming soon to the Yelp for BlackBerry I also mentioned one problem with the app’s description in App World:

“Another issue which I had and which confused me quite a bit when I first started using the app was that it clearly states in the App World description of features that with the app you can, “Add Quick Tips, photos, and draft reviews for your favorite businesses” none of which you can actually do. (Maybe they didn’t notice and just copy/pasted from the iOS or Android description?)”

Well I was informed literally that night by the Yelp team that they had looked into the issue and fixed it so the Yelp For BlackBerry description no longer says it does things which it can’t. I only waited this long to post because I wanted the changes to actually be viewable on BlackBerry App World (online and in the BlackBerry app) and not just submitted into BlackBerry to be changed before I said anything. To be honest, I was VERY impressed with the turnaround time between when I mentioned it to Yelp and when they said they had submitted an updated version to BlackBerry - it literally took hours.

Anyhow, I hope this helps removed any confusion from new, prospective, and current BlackBerry Yelpers. I can’t wait to see what Yelp has in store in the updated version simply because while I see the amazing potential this app/service has to be useful I have yet to REALLY get into it because the of the BlackBerry app’s limitations.
