I just received word from a contact over at Google that the very popular Google I/O Developers Conference which is being held in the Moscone Center in San Francisco on May 10 & 11 has been given an extra added feature. Google has announced “Google I/O Extended Events” to take place on Tuesday, May 10, 2024 in various cities around North America. What it means for all of us unable to get to San Francisco for the actual conference itself is that we are invited to come and view the keynote as well as other major I/O sessions as they’re happening live and for FREE.

The Google I/O Extended Events will take place in 10 American cities and 1 Canadian city. They include: Boulder, CO; Cambridge, MA; Chicago, IL; Irvine, CA; Kirkland, WA; Mountain View, CA; New York City, NY; Pittsburgh, PA; Santa Monica, CA; Seattle, WA; and Waterloo, ON, CANADA.

At these events Google is bringing together passionate and talented developers in the local communities to watch the Google I/O Conference through live streaming at the Google (Waterloo) Office.

They will be featuring live streaming of the keynote speakers and popular breakout sessions, as well as demonstrations & tech talks from local Canadian Googlers.

Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with fellow developers, enjoy beverages and bites, learn and share ways to create great web apps, meet Google engineers, experience live demonstrations of products built in the local offices, walk away with some cool swag, and enter to win raffle prizes (like a Samsung Galaxy Tab!).
