It appears that the often talked about Blackberry 6.1 OS update will now be unveiled as Blackberry 7, according to CrackBerry. Unfortunately, however, the update will not be QNX based. With Blackberry World just around the corner, it seems logical that an official announcement will come then.

As of right now, it’s unclear when this update will be released and which phones will support it. Will there also be a lite version of the OS to support older phones? Hopefully all these questions will be answered soon.
