Sony Enters The Android Tablet Market

At a press event in Tokyo today Sony officially announced their 2 all-but-forgotten tablets they mentioned back in February. The two are codenamed S1 and the S2 and they’ll be running Android Honeycomb which means these tablets have the potential to be a big hit. The tablets are to be released in the fall.
The S2 looks to be more like a dual screen laptop (like this) than a tablet - indeed it may popularize a lesser-known class of computing devices. According to Engadget the S2 is going to be a dual screen clamshell with a pair of 5.5-inch 1,024 x 480 pixel displays.
Another interesting aspect of note is that these tablets are attached to the VAIO brand and not the Sony Ericsson brand of cellular devices. However, the video below shows some sort of Playstation integration - perhaps this going to be some sort of PSP. Will it compete with or complement the soon-to-be-released Sony Ericsson PLAY? According to info released by Sony both the S1 and S2 will be PlayStation Certified as well as WiFi and 3G/4G compatible.
What do you think these two tablets will do to the market? I know it’s early to speculate but let us know what you think in the comments below
