A new show is coming to TV sets near you brought to you by a partnership between Blink Media Works (a Production Agency) and well known Canadian telecommunications giant TELUS. The idea behind the show is that with so many apps out there, the public needs someone on TV to provide a weekly digest featuring the useful and the fun from the world of apps. The stated goal of the show is to help viewers pick apps that will help them get the most out of their smartphones, tablets, and more.

AppTV won’t just stick to your run-of-the-mill GPS apps and Facebook apps though, they intend to help users decided which app will best help them manage their finances, keep an exercise regimen, find the best deals and more. Host Maryam Mehrtash is quoted in the press release saying that because apps have exploded and are everywhere in Canada - she says Canada has has the highest penetration of smartphones in the world - and tablets are expected to increase in sales by more than 400% by 2012 the mission of the show is to test numerous apps being produced each day so the hosts can inform their audience which ones are good and which are a waste of time & money.

Each episode of AppTV will include specific segments including:

• HOT FIVE - A countdown of the top apps in a different category each week.
• APP FEATURE - The inside scoop on the most popular apps and how to use them.
• TIPS & TRICKS – A quick and easy tutorial on how to use short-cuts and suggestions on various smartphones.

AppTV will launch on April 2, 2024 on THE CAVE (a nationally broadcast cable specialty channel aimed at men), followed by airings on CHEK TV (a TV station based in Victoria, BC and broadcasting to all of southwestern BC including Vancouver), and SUN TV (a TV station based in Toronto, Ontario and serving much of southern and eastern Ontario).
