Guess what folks? The one and only BlackBerry Messenger app has been updated for your downloading enjoyment! It sure has been a while since RIM gave us something new to play with, eh?

Despite not releasing a list of what’s included, the changes should be evident after the now standard download, install and reboot routine. Although one big change from the usual routine is when you are going to update BBM ensure that your BBM Contact list is backed up before you do it. To do so, go into BBM, display the Menu and go to Options. Once in the options go to Backup and either back up locally or remotely (or both).

**We are hearing the updating isn’t showing up for all, so give it some time for the App World servers to update. If you are having that problem try going into App World and give the ALT + RST trick a try. If you don’t know what that is it resets the cache of App World and makes it reload from the server. The way you do it is open App World, press and hold the ALT button then type the sequence of letters R S T. App World should then shut down and when you relaunch it it will load new info from the RIM servers.
