WINNER ANNOUNCED!

Thank you very much to all who entered! The winner of the brand spankin’ new HTC HD7 is Tal Bronstein, congratulations! Please email contact at thecellularguru dot com to claim your prize. To those who didn’t win: don’t be discouraged, another giveaway is right around the corner!

—————————

The HTC HD7 is one sexy piece of phone, period. Amongst the many other drool worthy features; its 4.3″ screen is the largest and clearest of any in-market device, and it runs the Windows Phone 7 OS - this makes it a phone with which it’s easy to fall in love.

Since first using the Samsung Focus I have developed a small, but present attachment to the tiled wonder. Why? Simply because it works. The lack of true multi-tasking (despite also being one of the reasons why I ultimately walked away from the platform for now) allows for a very pleasant, lag-free experience when swiping back and forth, up and down throughout the ecosystem and because it is Windows Phone 7, there is no learning curve going from one device to the next; they are all the same, in different housings.

So, all things being equal; what is the best way to show off a new device, that in many ways is similar to its brothers and sisters? Doing-up a kick-ass video overview along with a device giveaway that’s how!

I love the screen size on both! The “Me tiles” & the Hub, AWESOME!!!!. That’s hott! @misselj

  • http://ta97.com Tim

I love the simplicity, been looking for a phone where it is easy to get to the features I want so easily without a ton of widgets or hoops to jump through @ta97radio

  • http://twitter.com/pozi240 Andrew Poziomka

@pozi240 I love the Me Tiles in WP7 and how you can tell at a glance when you have updates and emails, etc. Also, the HD7 is yet another quality product from HTC, the screen is huge and love the little “kick stand” on the back. That would certainly come in handy to watch movies at my desk while at sea. LOL

I’ve wanted this phone for months now! The 4.3 display is a huge + , it just makes everything look and feel better. I love this website too! its got alot of potential to one day be one of the big channels on youtube and everyone should subscribe and tell their friends and help TheCellularGuru !! Cheers

One thing I totally love about Windows Phone 7 is the notification feature which is essentially ‘just right there’. Live tiles really stand out compared to iPhone’s and Android’s notification features and indeed this is reason why Apple is planning on revamping the notification features for the better of the iPhone. Now about the HTC HD7, what I love is that big screen! Even though it might not be the best, as of today, among the WP7 devices it is really a kick-ass phone.

Is this the first HTC HD7 (TFT-LCD screen) or is it the new HTC HD7S (the one AT&T will have) Because if it is the S (super LCD screen) version that would be awesome!!!

Well first off the 4.3″ screen is almost enough just to fall in love but then you add the smooth lag free OS just makes this phone a dream.

There is no doubt that the best feature of Microsoft Windows Phone 7 & HTC HD7 is the Microsoft Office, esp One Note!

I’m currently doing a research about smartphones impact on the corporate level, esp employee productivity. For the past few years, this area has been dominated by RIM. Now with the Windows Phone 7 that comes with sacred corporate apps like Microsoft Office and Advanced email, calendar, notes, etc PLUS big screen (on HTC HD7) and very simple UI.. , I personally believe it will not only heating up smatphone competition in the business field, but also change the way people actually use their smartphone to enhance their productivity in every aspect of their life. I believe people will see this HTC HD7 as a professional yet very fun smartphone to use.

It’s kind of sad but I actually went ooooh when the kick stand flipped on the back of the device. In terms of the os I’d have to say the ability to sync with the SkyDrive is pretty awesome (25GB of storage!)

Thanks for the in-depth review. Love the screen size….looks like a good phone. I enjoy The Cellular Guru to keep me up to date. I also appreciate the Canadian perspective.

Thanks for another great giveaway. I forgot to mention my two favourite features of the phone so please accept another comment. For the HTC HD7 the screen size is hands down what I like best and for the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 feature it would have to be Window Office. Thanks again!

Good video. I have to say, seeing the display in action was definitely a bonus. It looks like HTC didn’t sacrifice anything in the way of display quality when they made it 4.3″.

    Cheers,

Really like the 4.3 inch screen and the kickstand, a great job by HTC. As for WP7, the tile layout is novel and seems to be catching on. @paulbryden
