As someone who is self employed and reliant on self generated income, I’m always looking for new ways to communicate and develop me market strategies. I strongly believe that staying current and being well educated is the best way to maintain longevity in any industry and a day at The Art of Marketing would really help me push my small business forward!

I’d benefit most from winning this ticket by having the opportunity to bring a colleague with me. Adding to the circle of brand champions at our office…plus, it’d be one less person I’d have to provide the Coles Notes version to - We all know Coles Notes never give the story the credit due!

Wow! I was looking at this in my inbox the other day, wishing that I had the $400 to attend! Why would I most benefit from this conference? Well, where do I begin…

I’ve been looking to make a change in my life for a while now. I’ve done a lot education- and career-wise that seemed like the “right thing to do”, but was never really within my control.

But then one day, I started going to Tweetups. One day I stopped thinking that the ideas I had for products and services were silly, and started thinking on what I could actually do to make them happen.

Without a formal education in marketing, I’ve been consuming whatever comes my way — books on branding, Fast Company magazine, ebooks galore on content creation and online marketing. I’ve been improving my skills to make the things I’d like to see a reality rather than constantly wondering “what if?”

I saw this conference and it spoke to me — I think it would be a great opportunity to give me the fuel and nourishment needed to keep striding forward to achieve great things! It’s not something that I’ll accomplish overnight, but with every new chance to learn, I feel that I’m getting ever closer to making some awesome products for the world around me :)

    So that’s why!

If I win, I’ll take the day off work. I will argue with my boss to show the merit of why I need to attend. I will tweet. I will embrace and immerse myself in the opportunity. I think this is just what I’ve been looking for.

Marketing is one part trail blazing, one part adapting. That being said I would consider it a privilege to listen to and network with some of the most influential thought leaders in the industry. The best way to learn is to reach out and try. I do that everyday, and have definitely hit some speed bumps. I am relatively new to the social media and marketing world, have an amazing mentor but would thoroughly appreciate the opportunity to stretch myself further and bring a less traditional approach to the conversation. Sometimes being brash can bring change.

I attended the Art of Marketing in Montreal…It was an amazing event… I left there completely pumped and motivated, wanting to implement many of the things I had just learned. I loved the event so much I am hoping to fly to Toronto to attend this event again and listen to the amazing line of of speakers you have.
    I hope to make it.

I’m currently starting a company in Toronto. With late nights and early mornings developing the product, there is going to be a time when I will need to develop my marketing plan. This will be a great opportunity for me to consume all the information I can from the people leading in this space to know what works and what doesn’t. Who knows, if I get the chance to attend, I can add this to one of my stories/experiences in the creation of the company. Everyone has a story.
