UK Sales Numbers: BlackBerry Beats iPhone in 2010

Recent sales numbers reports coming out of the UK are showing something that many of us in North America might find difficult to believe. It seems that in a GfK Group study the lineup of BlackBerry phones by RIM (Research in Motion) beat out Apple iPhones with 28.2% of 2010 UK sales.
According to IntoMobile and TechRadar RIM is talking a lot about its Holiday Season performance in the UK, and rightly so, seeing as nearly one in two pre-pay handsets being bought was a BlackBerry, and nearly a quarter of all phones purchased on contracts also BlackBerrys. The Curve 8520 and new Torch 9800 being the object of desire for UK customers selling extremely well.
So for all the naysayers calling doom and gloom for BlackBerry and RIM in general it looks like there is still quite a bit of fight left in them.
