Wow, after updating their BlackBerry app on January 11 Poynt is at it again. Today, my BlackBerry App World notified me of a new update available for Poynt and the new version I just updated to is v1.7.0.56.

The reason for this new version according to the update notification in App World is that it “Fixes GPS issues some users have been experiencing on BlackBerry OS 5.0“. This means that no, it still doesn’t have BlackBerry 6 Reverse Lookup Support (I checked on my Torch right after I downloaded & updated Poynt & rebooted my BlackBerry). Of course, there is the work around which we outlined here.

The download is smaller than the previous version’s 1.1 MB coming in at 925 KB according to the listing on the web.

According to App World Poynt is available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, United States and for any device running OS 4.2.1 or higher and on all carriers.
