A buddy of mine just asked me why there are currently no BlackBerry Bold devices on AT&T’s website. I quickly took a look and came up with the same result. I also entered through a direct link, but when I clicked to purchase, I was kicked back to AT&T’s homepage. I then put a call into AT&T’s wireless sales department and asked the sales rep if the 9700 was still available and she thought it was, but after a couple of clicks of her mouse, she was surprised to tell me that the 9700 is no longer available. I asked her if it was showing as ‘Sold Out’, and she replied that it was no longer in her database. She had no further information on the situation, nor had she heard anything about the Bold 9780. At this point, it’s quite unclear if the 9780 will be coming to AT&T or not.

I’m not sure if any other devices have been recently taken down from AT&T’s site or if they have been down for some time now (ie: Bold 9000 which has an EOL of 5/13/2011), but the 9700 is very noticeable. Is AT&T’s 9700 gone for good? We’ll keep you posted..
