Poynt released an update for their popular BlackBerry app today bringing it up to version 1.7.0.47. I just installed it on my own personal Blackberry Torch and first thing I did was check if it supported Reverse Lookup from within the Call Log screen but no luck: Still No BlackBerry 6 Reverse Lookup Support. We will be posting the exact work around instructions for this shortly as we have been in touch with Poynt and they have told us how to accomplish the reverse lookup with BB 6, we have tried it, and it works.

In this new version of Poynt North American users get a new feature, Events (screenshot of the new feature is below) which gives users “up to the minute event listings and details” through a partnership with Eventful. It allows users to search for events nearby, by performer, by venue or by date. It also has the option to look for events within specific categories such as “festivals, concerts and sporting events.” Once you find an event you like a user can then view event details such as “maps, photos, browse websites, view seating charts and get detailed performer information.” Another extra added bonus is that “users can add events to their device calendar or send details to friends.” I have yet to try out this new feature but let us know what you think of it below.
