RIM (Research In Motion) has just created a new branding program for their accessories as well as accessories made by select third party partners. The program is named “Built for BlackBerry” and is a partnership between RIM and selected third party partners. From the site pictured above (and linked below) “These partners will develop accessories and peripherals specifically designed to work with BlackBerry® smartphones and the BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet. Built for BlackBerry accessories will meet a high level of quality and are designed specifically for your BlackBerry smartphone or tablet. These accessories can also leverage advanced features that integrate your accessory and device in new ways.”

The Built For BlackBerry Program partners as of today’s launch include: Case-mate, Speck, Incipio, Otterbox, Tru Protection, iGrip, Vaja, Dicota and Trexta. Accessories that are approved will be given a special logo (pictured below) to show that they are certified as ‘Built for BlackBerry’ to appear on their packaging and marketing material.

I’m unsure what exactly the difference is the indicated between the “Built for BlackBerry” logo and the “Authentic BlackBerry Accessories” logo (below, I took a quick picture of the logo on my Bold 9000 sleeve’s box). Maybe the former indicates it is made my a third party company/partner approved by RIM and the latter indicates it is made by RIM (or at least a company manufactured it with direct orders from RIM). I really don’t know.
