TubeMote is the YouTube remote for smartphones you actually want to try

A few days ago I got a tip, admittedly from the creator of the product, about a new app in the Android Marketplace, called TubeMote. Not a new idea -the ability to control your computer with your smartphone has been done to death, from iTunes remotes to other YouTube remote products. But the one thing I really like about TubeMote is the ability to just sign in and have it work.
TubeMote review
The secret here is that instead of using RF or Bluetooth, the remote software will sync between your phone and the channel. When you first head to TubeMote.com you will be asked to sign up — all you need is a username, an email and a password. Once that’s completed, you can sign in to their desktop site and, on your smartphone, to their mobile site or Android app, and you are greeted with a search box.
You have the ability to search YouTube, justin.tv, Scribd and Google, and whatever you enter on your smartphone wil appear, like magic, on your desktop. It’s very smooth, and extremely watchable. The user interface strikes me as as mashup between YouTube Leanback, Google’s own answer to the couch, and the mobile YouTube site — it is pared down and simple. But, this works extremely well.
Download it from the Android Marketplace, and check out TubeMote’s website for more information.
