CES2011: What To Expect

The yearly convention that brings together nerds from across the world is about to begin - CES2011, live from Las Vegas, Nevada - and TheCellularGuru.com is here bringing you all the news as it happens.
What can you expect to see here? Tablets, 3D TV’s, Tablets and yes, did I forget to say Tablets? It is approaching a year since Jobsy first introduced the world to the revolutionary iPad, thus opening the flood gates to the competition trying to set their stance in the space. 2010 was arguably the year of the Tablet and the hype isn’t going anywhere, and this will be the first electronics show where all the big dogs can display what they have been cooking up through the end of 2010.
A sure-fire guarantee is that ALL tablets will be labeled “iPad killers”, ALL but the BlackBerry PlayBook will run Android OS (with the relevant ones already on 2.2), and ALL will come with some fancy marketing gimmick telling you why theirs is better - it’ll be a riot.
But, the question is: “What are you expecting to see?”; the PlayBook is played-out (sorry, had to) by now and RIM hasn’t had a device leak in months to get our mouths watering over; Apple has already launched AppleTV, but, rumors are circulating that ol’ Jobsy will finally announce the Verizon CDMA iPhone; Google has already launched the Nexus One successor in the Nexus S, so I’m interested in seeing what HTC has up their sleeves; Nokia’s meeGO OS (the successor to the flailing Symbian 3 platform) has been talked about for months, will it be shown off? Now would be the time. What about HP? 2010 was the year they acquired Palm, and Palm’s sexy, but not-so-popular webOS platform. Do they have new hardware to show off running the underdog OS? What about Microsoft and their hot new Windows Phone 7 OS, what new devices are in store for us?
All these questions and more could be answered this week, so stay tuned to the site as we post the news as it happens.
