As I wrote in this post’s title, this post is pure conjecture and speculation on my part.

After I received my reply from PowerMat in regard to the upcoming Torch Receiver Door mentioned in my previous post, it occurred to me that I should see if I could find out any other information about upcoming PowerMat products so I emailed a reply to PowerMat to start a conversation.

Here is my reasoning for my theory as spelled out in the title: I received that initial email from PowerMat at 2:14pm. I emailed the representative back at 2:43pm identifying myself as a writer here and to ensure it was OK if I posted that information on the site (I assumed it was but I wanted to make sure) and got a reply that it was OK at 2:45pm, 2 minutes later. I then emailed the representative back at 2:49pm, 4 minutes later, and asked if there was any word on the PowerPak line of batteries (which is a battery that allows for wireless charging on a PowerMat which fits under your phone’s regular battery cover) which were showed off at the 2010 editions of at two shows in 2010, CES and CTIA Wireless. I asked if they were going to be launching or making an announcement about the PowerPaks at CES 2011 next week. After that email, I got no response, not even a carefully worded denial and haven’t heard a word in the numerous hours since. From replying to email within minutes to going completely silent after being asked something very specific, I found that strange and in a way, telling.

This could mean nothing or it could mean a new type of wireless charging is almost upon us. Maybe PowerMat even signed a deal with one of the cellphone manufacturers to put their PowerPak batteries into all their new phones. Talk about a great new way to market your phones! Only Company X’s cell phones have the PowerPak battery and it comes standard, so if you buy a phone made by Company X just buy a PowerMat as well and never have to deal with charging wires again! Of course, this is all just a theory and completely unfounded in evidence. We will have to wait and see what 2011 brings.
