Update: LockApps for BlackBerry free until January 3rd!

It can be annoying to have to enter a password everytime you pick up your BlackBerry device, if the reason you keep it locked is only to protect a select few apps. For instance, I know a lot of people who keep their BlackBerrys locked only so their photos cannot be accessed. LockApps by Berobo rids you of that cumbersome constant password entering task by giving you the ability to selectively lock down any apps on your BlackBerry device. You will only be asked to enter a password when your locked apps need to be accessed. You may want to lock BBM, SMS/MMS, Email messages or something totally different. Whatever the app may be, LockApps will be able to handle the task. Not to worry, LockApps can lock any 3rd party apps as well. Personally, I’m tired of my friends grabbing my unwatched BlackBerry and posting moronic status updates to Facebook. I loved the look on my friends face the other day when she asked me how my Facebook was blocked on my BlackBerry.

Once LockApps is installed on your BlackBerry, it will populate 3 lists of Apps; Core, Others & Popular. On QWERTY BlackBerrys ‘T’ and ‘B’ act as shortcuts to take you to the top and bottom of each list. It just takes one click to lock or unlock each app. Under the Settings tab, you will be able to set and or change your password which will be used for all locked apps. Whenever you try to access a locked app, you will be prompted to enter your password on the screen pictured up top.

    is this only for the torch? when i go to the link and put in the user name and password it brings me to a second screen asking if it is for a torch or other bb device. i have a storm so i click on the other bb device. i have to put the password in a few times then i get a unauthorized error

    sorry it did not help. when i click on the OTA link, it ask me to put in the user name in password. i do that and then it brings me to the page where i choose which device i have. i select lockapps for other bb devices, then it ask me for hte user name and password again. it continues to ask me for the password until it finally says unathorize error.i tried it in the regular browser as well os Opera.

    If we have to reload our BB and re install the apps in the future how would we be able to do it when the link is no longer valid?

    The app will carry over in a straight OS upgrade. Otherwise you will have to back up the app.

    I too have the same problem. I don’t think the Username/Password works anymore. That video has nothing to do with the problem we are both experiencing. Is there a different username/pass we can get?

    working for me. Although I did have that issue once using the Internet Browser. Worked fine after using my Bell Browser. Actually now works with both browser. Try clicking the Remember checkbox on the username password popup. That might help.

    I also tried that and it did not work! I thought it might have something to do with our browser settings but i reset everything and still no luck.

    This app is pretty cool. And it was free and I thank you for that. I would like to leave some positive feedback but their site is in the process of updating. So, The app locks what you want locked but not really. Let me explain. I locked my pics and when you go to the pics in media browser it is locked BUT say i want to send a BBM contact, SMS, MMS, Email a pic? Well, then it is not secure it opens the pics right up. I’m sure this will be fixed in future builds or it may not even be possible. I don’t know. Anyway, great start for this app! It can only get better. I will keep testing it and see what else I come up with if anything else. Thanx again.
