WIND Mobile Expands To New City - Whistler, BC - While Expanding & Improving Existing Coverage

Globalive’s WIND Mobile announced the other day that they have continued to work on their network across Canadian cities, expanding and improving it. The latest developments in their network are the beginning of service in the Whistler, British Columbia area - “just in time for many Canadians’ holiday ski trips” and expansion and improvement in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Calgary, and Vancouver.
In terms of details of the network expansion in existing areas here’s a rundown. In Toronto/the GTA they’ve expanded from Richmond Hill to Newmarket, Aurora, and King City. In Calgrary they’ve built out into South Calgary in the Shawnessey and Chaparral neighbourhoods as well as Saddle Ridge in Northeast Calgary. In Vancouver, they’ve expanded their network to reach into Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, and part of Port Moody.
In the improved service WIND says they have worked on their network throughout the GTA in south Etobicoke near the QEW, Midtown Toronto, Georgetown, in the Highways 400 & 7 area in Vaughan (near the location of their Colossus store) and are working on improving their coverage in Thorncliffe Park and the DVP area soon. In Calgary, WIND says they have ‘greatly improved service throughout Calgary the last few weeks.”
If you are a WIND subscriber I’d love to hear your opinions on the new an/or improved service areas in the comments below.
