Millenial Media, the largest independent mobile advertising network, revealed in their November 2010 Mobile Mix Report that the Android and iOS platforms tied for the most mobile ad impressions in the United States at 38% - ad impressions is defined as the frequency of an ad appearing. This is a gain of 1% for both Apple and Google’s mobile operating systems since last month’s report was released. Research In Motion’s Blackberry devices took 3rd place with a 19% share of the impressions and with 2% each Windows and Symbian tied for the bottom of the barrel.

Overall, of the top 30 mobile devices used in the month of November, smartphones accounted for 19 of them.

Why are we only looking at the results of one mobile ad company’s analysis? Because this company’s “network reach is over 80% of the mobile web, according to Nielsen.”
