One of the most anticipated devices to launch in 2011 is the BlackBerry PlayBook, RIM’s first attempt in the tablet market. Based on what we have seen through the various hands-on videos, pictures, and TabLife last week in Toronto, it is sure to shake things up a bit.

With the launch fast approaching, RIM has thrown together an incentive program, offering free PlayBook’s to those developers who’s apps are a part of the PlayBook’s app-store at launch in the first quarter of 2011. Software Development Kits are available on all major platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux) and devs can make apps using the Adobe Air platform as well.

To learn more about this program, read the legalities here. Remember, the deadline to submit functional apps is February 1st, 2011. Good luck!
