We all know that the Android platform is gaining market share with every new device released, it’s kind of a given. What we don’t actually know is how many devices are activated daily around the world….trust me it’s staggering.

The number? 300,000 and counting according to Google’s VP of Engineering Andy Rubin. That’s a 50% growth from August, when it was 200,000 daily activated devices. Now for even more wow factor; multiply that number to fit into a month and you have 9 Million Android devices activated — amazing.

Congratulations goes to Google on reaching this milestone, earning them a strong #2 position for most used mobile OS of 2010, still trailing behind the reigning #1, Nokia’s Symbian OS.
