It has been a few months since Sean Ward and I have teamed up to do a mobile video blog, but never fear we are back with a vengeance in a new series of videos called: “Mobile Data”

If you have seen any of our previous videos, we showcased some of the hottest devices launched in 2010, including: BlackBerry’s Torch 9800, Samsung’s Galaxy S Vibrant, and the infamous iPhone 4 from Apple, all greeted with very anticipated positive responses.

Well, last Friday November, 26th Sean and I set out with a different phone in hand, Nokia’s Symbian^3 powered N8 smartphone, the underdog of the Canadian smartphone market. The device is great and completely misunderstood for what it is.

Upon introduction many people weren’t familiar with the Symbian operating system. But, once we actually walked them through it, showcasing the 12MP Carl Zeiss camera, the 720p HD video recording, the 3.5″ touchscreen, and of course Angry Birds, they were pleasantly surprised with its usability.

Overall, users seemed enthusiastic about the device and its powerful multimedia features, meaning our mission was accomplished.

This being said, it isn’t always about the OS you are running, but how it is used and more importantly, how it fits into your lifestyle as a consumer. Make sure to always educate yourself, you may be shocked to find what suits your needs!

TO OUR WATCHERS/READERS:

If there is any device you would like to see showcased on our show, don’t hesitate to reach out to either myself via comments or on Twitter, or my co-host Sean Ward as well.

great video guys, very entertaining, cant wait for more
i picked up the n8 several weeks back and symbian aint as great as android, but its a very nice change and i am LOVING the n8, the n8 i feel is for a person like anyone on this website, someone who knows a lot about phones and wants a change from android, ios etc, i wouldn’t recommend this phone to newbies as android would be a better experience for someone new to the game. the ovi store is nice but lacks the volume the app store or market has, but i knew that coming into this. nokia did a great job on the n8, i highly recommend this to anyone who is still sitting on the fence about it. as soon as u put the phone in your hand you will be amazed how well built the phone is. much better then a full plastic device..fits perfectly in your hand. I was just down in south carolina and this phone was perfect, took out my sim and just used it as a digital camera, 12MP and 720p video is amazing. only negative thing i have to say is the lack of apps, but ive already noticed more and more being added to the store daily. it has angry birds :)
    the gorilla glass screen..LOVE IT
and a very positive note is ROGERS DIDNT BRAND THE PHONE….makes the phone even more sexier. anyone else have the n8? run into any issue?
ive heard reports of them not turning on, and reports of light escaping at the back of the device from the notification light on the bottom left hand corner
