[UPDATED] Public Mobile offering up FREE December Metropass with purchase of a phone

If executed properly, this is a genius marketing idea going into the holidays.
A tipster just sent this picture into Mobile Syrup of a campaign Public Mobile is doing with the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission, for the out of towners). Essentially, all you need to do is buy a phone (they start at $30) put it on the cheapest plan (starting from $24) and they will give you a Metropass for December at no charge (value of $121). Reps. are scattered across Toronto, but most notably at Union, Kennedy and Finch Stations, ready and willing to inform you.
I’d be interested to know if there is a minimum amount of time one can stay active before cancelling their plan? If you pick one up and find out, let us know in the comments!
UPDATE: One of our tipsters just let us know you NEED to buy the $99 Kyocera Sliding QWERTY phone, plus the $40 Unlimited plan to take advantage of the offer. I guess this campaign isn’t as good a deal I thought it was!
