WIND Launches BlackBerry Curve 3G, Huawei U3200 & LG dLite For Holidays

WIND Mobile has just announced today the release of 3 new devices for the holiday season. The new devices are the BlackBerry Curve 3G, Huawei U3200 & LG dLite. It is a great launch as it covers almost all the different basic cellular form factors (candybar, slider, clamshell).
The BlackBerry Curve 3G is also known as the BlackBerry 9300 is a BlackBerry which features the classic Curve-style keyboard (as opposed to the Bold-style), 3G capabilities, BlackBerry 6 OS readiness, WiFi (b/g/n), GPS, a 2 megapixel camera, dedicated media keys, and a microSD slot which can take up to cards up to 32gb. It is retailing for $290 and is still listed on the website as ‘Coming Soon’.
The Huawei U3200 is a nice slider phone with a 3.2 megapixel camera that has 8x digital zoom, microSD card support up to 8GB, integrated music and video player, built in FM radio, and Stereo Bluetooth 2.0 (A2DP profile). It will retail for $90 and is also still listed as ‘Coming Soon’ on the WIND site.
The LG dLite really rounds out the group of phones in the form factor department. It is a clamshell device that has a 2 MP camera, music player, threaded SMS, supports up to 16GB microSD cards. It also has customizable LED animation and lighting options, so every individual user can make this phone unique to them. The LG dLite is listed as “In Stock” on the site and is retailing currently for $140. It will go up to its regular price of $160 after the holiday season.
Interestingly, in the original press release we were sent from WIND they announced four phones were being launched. No fourth phone was mentioned in the release though and when I asked them about this fourth phone they said the decision to pull it from the launch was a last minute change and the 4th is going to come soon…but not necessarily for the holiday season. Only time will tell what this fourth device is and when it will be coming out.
