HTC G2 and Desire Z achieve permanent root

They’ve done it! HTC’s locking of the NAND memory on their newly-released Android phones, the G2, Desire Z, Desire HD and myTouch 4G, has been broken, achieving what many thought impossible: permanent root access to system files.
Basically, what happened was that any files added to the system (before this) were added onto to the RAM cache, and were deleted or reverted once the system was rebooted. That meant that we could achieve root, but it didn’t stick. As a result, customer ROM loading was impossible.
This is no more, as the NAND security lock has been cracked. Over at XDA, thousands of happy G2 and Desire Z owners are sitting at work, anxious to get home to attempt this fairly basic procedure.
NOW BE AWARE: THIS COULD BRICK YOUR PHONE. We hold no responsibility if you decide to be stupid and go off-book.
