The image above is from Vodafone Germany’s sales system. ‘Akkufachdeckel schwarz’ translates into ‘black battery cover’. We haven’t heard anything about the 9900 aka ‘Pluto’ for a while now. There were also rumors circulating that it was scrapped. Many of the supposed specs of the Pluto are now outdated so if it was actually alive, you could imagine it would have a 5MP camera, 624MHz processor and so on. The main reason why there was so much buzz about the Pluto was that it was supposed to be in the Bold form-factor with a touchscreen. The picture below from CrackBerry was leaked back in March and is what the Pluto should have looked like at the time. I really wouldn’t consider the Vodafone screenshot of a battery cover in the system to be proof that the 9900 is alive and coming soon, as it could all be a glitch in the Matrix. We’ll have to wait and see if more information arises. In the meantime, it wouldn’t hurt to dream…
