Surprise, surprise, what do we have here?

None other than a dummy of the just announced BlackBerry Bold 9780 refresh, prepped and ready for an early of November launch. Sweet, eh?

Rogers is still being tight lipped about anything to do with this phone (other than officially acknowledging it yesterday) so we can’t comment on anything exact, but expect it to be priced around $149.99 on a 3 year or $599.99 outright.

To all the folks that use a 9700 and are torn between upgrading to this or the Torch, I suggest this. It combines the form factor that you have grown to love of the 9700, with the power and speed of the Torch (minus the touch screen and slide of course).

There is much speculation around the exact launch of this phone. With dummies arriving, expect it within a week or so.. (Stock depending obvs)

It better not be November the 17th, I’ve got a 9000 thats on it’s last legs and when I saw the 9780 leak a few days ago i decided to sit tight and not go to a 9700 because it’s looking like they’re going to skip OS6 for the 9700 (stupid IMO, smart marketing decision though)

Nope.
Leaks happen when RIM dev’s want to field test an OS before it hits gold (carrier status).
Once tested and well received, they get submitted to carrier for approval.

I’ve got the same issue as you! My Bold 9000 is in its last days, with a battery that is dying after 4 hours each day! Ouch!
