Well isn’t this the surprise of the century.

A little over a month ago we were the first to bring you short video of a Telus flashed BlackBerry Bold 9780 in the wild. Although no official confirmation came from Telus, slowly, other carriers started hopping on the 9780 train including Virgin and Bell, dropping release dates, leaving many to wonder if Telus or Rogers would come forward or not.

Low and behold this morning, shortly after RIM made it official, our contact at Telus has reached out to confirm that Telus will indeed carry the BackBerry Bold 9780 refresh, saying this:

“Hello,

I wanted to reach out to confirm that TELUS will be offering the new and improved BlackBerry Bold 9780, RIM announced this morning. Lean and fit, the smartphone brings you the processing power, speed and functionality of the BlackBerry 6 OS in classic BlackBerry form.

Though pricing and release date are both unconfirmed, this is still exciting news for Telus BlackBerry users itching for a new phone, but don’t want to say bye to the 9700 form factor for the recently launched Torch 9800.
