One of the first things I noticed upon loading OS6 was that a lot of the ever so popular BlackBerry alerts were either gone or have been remixed. A feeling of emptiness overcame me and I immediately started searching around for the files to load back on my device. Instead of going on a rant about how RIM taking away so many beloved alerts makes absolutely no sense, I’m going to cut to the chase and tell you how to get your alerts back. There are two ways to do this and I suggest sticking with option 1 if you are not familiar with .COD files.

Option 1:

• Download this file to your computer and unzip the file
• Connect your BlackBerry to your computer (or use Wifi File Transfer) and navigate to the ringtones folder on your SD
• Drop the alerts of your choice in that destination

Option 2 (Advanced):

• Download the 2 medialoader .COD files from the Bold 9000 onto your computer: File 1, File 2.
• Load the .COD’s with BBSAK.
• BBSAK may reboot upon loading .COD’s. Read system to see if both .COD’s loaded. If not, load the second .COD.
