One of the main reasons I love BlackBerrys is because they are extremely efficient devices. It really kills me when I come across BlackBerry users who don’t take advantage of shortcut and convenience keys. It kills me even more when I show someone how to use them and they really don’t want to be bothered.

In any other instance of life, if you we’re given the opportunity to constantly take shortcuts to save time, you would right? For some reason there are people who would rather scroll around to find and click on their BBM icon than just simply hit the letter ‘N’. If the average BlackBerry user could somehow ballpark the amount of times they open up BBM in a single year, it would only make sense to utilize shortcuts. Now that shortcut keys are covered, let’s talk about convenience keys. If you are a BlackBerry user who utilizes your convenience keys, then good job. Why not get the best bang for your buck? If you do not, then shame on you. For the longest time BlackBerrys have shipped with left and right convenience keys with the exception of the Torch, which has only one on the right side. You can set the convenience keys to any app your little heart desires whether it be native or 3rd party. Because I use shortcut keys to their full potential, I use the convenience keys for two things I frequently use and the shortcut keys do not support.
