Knowing that iPhone’s AppStore is well into the 200k app mark and the Android Market is pushing past 100k, hearing that BlackBerry’s AppWorld has reached the 10k mark seems rather, dismal.

This being said, it hasn’t stopped Alex Kinsella, Sr. Product Manager for BlackBerry AppWorld from hitting twitter earlier today and praising the progress being made:

The App World “is 10,000 apps strong and growing”

RIM has always stood by their quality over quantity mentality, so catching up may not totally be in the cards in terms of apps. Let’s just see if the “Quality” part prevails.
