Official Froyo Unofficially Comes to Samsung Galaxy S i9000

This was a surprising day for us Samsung Galaxy S owners! Someone on MoDaCo, a Windows Mobile/Android forum, discovered that Kies, the Samsung iTunes equivalent, was offering a new software build entitled JPC, when UK owners plugged in their phones to their PCs. So a few resourceful people decided to hack your Windows registry to trick it into thinking you are in fact from the UK, too! Now, everyone has Froyo!
It should be noted that this isn’t an official build, but is only meant for “testing” purposes. It is certainly more feature-filled and more stable than previous leaked Froyo tests, and that this can be downloaded directly from Samsung’s servers means that an official follow-up can’t be far off.
If you’re interested in trying this, and this is meant only for international Galaxy S owners (including Canadian Bell Vibrant owners!) head on over to XDA-Developers for some deets! It’s not an easy process, but I managed to do it fairly quickly, not without a few hiccups.
