Something big is launching today. Flash on Android. No, not in the way you’re thinking, but rather through a veteran company releasing their first web browser on the Android platform.

Skyfire launched their now very-popular browser on Windows Mobile a few years ago. It was considered, and still is, to be the fastest and most capable browser on the whole platform.

When the company purchased Kolbysoft last year, the maker of Steel browser for Android, they dedicated themselves to recreating Skyfire for Android in WebKit, the open platform that Mobile Safari and the default Android browser are created with.

Head on over to the Android Marketplace, or if you don’t have access to it, you can download the .APK file on their website.
