Google Cancels Plans for Nexus One To Come To Verizon

Google announced on their blog today that the Nexus One will no longer be coming to Verizon. Google has attributed the cancellation to the upcoming Droid Incredible’s release. As we know the Incredible has very similar features to the Nexus One, and in a few ways is superior. The largest difference between the two is that the Incredible will receive Android 2.1 with HTC’s Sense UI while the Nexus One runs vanilla Android 2.1. Sense can be a blessing and a curse depending on what type of user you are. Some find that while Sense does a good job unifying the theme of the Android OS, it can bog down the system with pretty graphics and background processes. For most however, Sense is a welcome edition, and if you really can’t stand it, I’m sure the Incredible will be rooted soon enough and you can flash any ROM your heart desires on to this thing.
