At at analyst conference today, Mike Lazarides, RIM CEO, said that Blackberry OS6, or Blackberry 6 as he calls it, will be released next quarter.

He said that the Operating System will be released for touch and non-touch devices, though the demo that was shown was for touch devices.

Apparently not all current Blackberry devices will be upgradeable to the next-gen OS, but it can be taken for granted I think that any device that shipped with OS5 will likely get Blackberry 6 when it is released later this year.

WebKit browser will be released concurrently with the new OS but we may see it as a separate (leaked) release before the official date.
