More Proof That Something Strange Happened With The Nexus One Screen

Displaymate has posted a detailed comparison between the Nexus One and Droid screens and, well, it’s brutal. They have emerged as saying that the Nexus One screen is an “unfinished prototype” and doesn’t perform nearly up-to-par as a production screen. I humbly disagree with this, as I’ve used the Nexus One for weeks now, and find the screen to be incredibly rich and accurate, but science does tell, and, reading over the report I got the feeling that HTC cut corners with this screen.
Reading their conclusion, it is easy to gloss over the details and say, “That’s not true! I love my Nexus One’s screen!” In reality, however, I have used both Droid and Nexus One and found, especially when reading text on the white background, that at a certain point zoomed-out, the Nexus One cannot reproduce text accurately. It’s quite sad. The Droid’s screen is gorgeous, and one thing I really miss about the device.
