Bold 9650 Now Availabe From Sprint Via Web
May 16th
Today our friends at CrackBerry discovered the Bold 9650 is now available on Sprint’s website. It’s priced at $299 with a $100 mail in rebate, on a new 2 year contract or with an eligible upgrade. Sprint’s site doesn’t mention anything about delayed shipping, so we’re assuming orders will ship today or tomorrow.
I also put a call in to a local sprint retailer to see if they had any 9650′s in stock. The rep confirmed that the 9650 is up for sale on the web, but he said that they won’t have the devices in store until the last week in May. Well technically, the last week in May begins on Sunday the 23rd, so it seems like Sprint is aiming to please. If you’re looking to order a 9650 over the web, click on the pic above, as is linked to Sprint’s site.
I should also add that I clicked through the image gallery on Sprint’s site because nobody has posted a picture of the 9650 battery cover as of yet. As you can see in the image above, the 9650′s battery cover is identical to the Tour 9630′s. Sorry to disappoint those of you hoping for a faux leather back.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, and stay tuned for more details on the 9650 and more.
RIM Officially Announces The Bold 9650 Smartphone
Apr 26th
The real news of the day at WES was the official announcement of the Blackberry Bold 9650. No, not the Tour2, as RIM has dropped the Tour name completely, but it’s still the same device. Well, not the same device, as they have generously added 256MB more RAM into the handset.
The Bold 9650 is the new CDMA device that was expected for months prior to its announcement this morning; in fact, people have actually been using pre-release devices for many months.
Now that it is official, Sprint and Verizon will definitely offer the device in the US, and it is possible, though not probable, that Telus or Bell will offer it in Canada (both carriers have changed to predominantly HSPA+ devices in the new year, and both already offer the Bold 9700).
Sprint has announced availability of the Bold 9650 on May 23rd for $199 after $100 mail-in-rebate on a two-year contract, which is extraordinarily expensive for an introductory price, but I’m sure they anticipate a high demand for the product, and they will likely sell quite well.
Sprint press release after the break.

HTC EVO 4G Gets Caught In Inventory Pic
Apr 13th
If you are interested in the HTC EVO 4G you better listen up. The folks over at Engadget had an anonymous tipster send them in the above snap shot of the EVO just hanging around with some of its accessories. Granted, it’s showing up quite early at this point and reflecting a price of $5,555 but the fact its there makes us wish we had a damn time machine so we could jump forward and and bring this thing back to the now. Now before you all jump on the price comment, no it won’t be $5,555 when it hits that market, that’s just a placeholder price. Sprint users, don’t get too excited this piece of work is still a few months out yet.
Samsung Moment2 Coming Soon With Android 2.1?
Apr 6th

Not a year after the original Moment arrived, the Moment2 seems destined to fulfill the small number of Android users who want a slide-out QWERTY keyboard without a Motorola logo on their phone. To be honest, the keyboard can’t be worse than that of the Droid, so this is welcome news.
The original Moment on Sprint ran on Android 1.5, and had some decent specs including an 800MHZ processor (most likely the same one that was in the Galaxy Spica) and an AMOLED display. The new Moment2 doesn’t take too many divergences from the original, though BGR is reporting that it is going to have some improvements on the keyboard, and, running 2.1 will allow it to sync with their TouchWIZ 3 Android overlay, which is neither good nor bad, but merely unnecessary.
This won’t take any eyes away from the Galaxy S when it launches in the summer, but this is going to be a a decent phone with a good user experience on the CDMA network.

Google Does a Little Teasing With The CDMA Nexus One
Mar 27th

So far the only Nexus One love going around has been to GSM users. T-Mobile US customers had first cracks at it, then more recently AT&T/Rogers was given their turn, followed by rumors of some Sprint love on the horizon. But the big question has always been when is the nation’s largest carrier getting it? (I’m talking Verizon Wireless or Big Red as it’s more commonly referred to) Well, supposedly Google did a little teasing today by accidentally posting it for sale at a subsidized price of only $199.00. This can only be a mean trick because Google is proudly the first phone maker to sell a phone through their own means of distribution and NOT through carriers at a subsidized price, essentially it’s full price or nothing. Anyways, the error was quickly fixed and Verizon users are still anxiously waiting for their turn. No official word has been given yet on an official release date for Verizon, but we will keep you posted if things change.

Nexus One Announced for Sprint — Now Where’s Verizon?
Mar 17th
On Sprint Soon
Google’s heralded Nexus One “superphone” will released on Sprint’s CDMA network in the US, forcing the question, “Where is our Verizon Nexus One?”
There is no mention of this on Google’s Nexus One portal, but a Sprint press release has said that availability will be “soon.”
“While a pricing plan has not yet been determined for Nexus One, we are confident that it will be consistent with Sprint’s commitment to deliver more value than our competitors and keep pricing simple,” said Fared Adib, Sprint vice president of product development. “Right now, our Sprint Everything Data 450 plan with Any Mobile, Anytime(SM) gives customers unlimited calling with any mobile phone in America, unlimited text and unlimited Web for just $69.99 per month – the same price AT&T and Verizon charge for just unlimited talk. Our Everything Data plans include unlimited GPS Navigation at no extra charge and annual phone upgrades with Sprint Premier.”
We know that Verizon will be getting the Nexus One sometime in the spring, but when is anyone’s guess at the moment.
