This morning, Robert McFarlane, CFO of Telus, is giving a talk on the company’s future in the mobile industry. He says that the stark rise in data usage per customer has not been able to offset the loss of voice-based revenue, as many people rely on SMS and other data-based forms of communications, which are cheaper for the client. The overal ARPU has lowered to $58 in 2009, a decline of $4 from the year before. This is a win for the customer, as competition has forced down the price of equivalent service for the consumer. More pics after the break, and more info to come.
