MICRORIM?! Sources claiming RIM is under buy out watch by Microsoft
Well today I have come across 3 stories claiming the up and coming Mobile World Conference will be a great time for Microsoft, with Steve Ballmer revealing Windows Mobile 7 and the possible announcement of a RIM buyout…? Yes, I know we have heard the rumors before but why would a company like RIM, with their superior technology and more valuable stock, allow itself to be taken over? 3 sources are writing this morning.
Report claims Microsoft keen on buying BlackBerry maker; Ballmer to host press conference at Mobile World Congress.
Microsoft, which is in danger of being forgotten in the smartphone market, could choose the “if you can’t beat them, buy them” option, following a report claiming it is eyeing an acquisition of RIM.
All Things Digital reported this week that multiple sources at Microsoft have said their outspoken CEO Steve Ballmer has repeatedly expressed interest in buying the BlackBerry maker.
According to the blog AllThingsD, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has repeatedly talked about his interest in buying RIM, say the blog’s multiple unnamed sources. The combo makes sense given both companies’ strong presence in the enterprise market
Insiders also speculate we’ll hear – or perhaps it’s more like they’re gleefully awaiting – the announcement of a RIM acquisition. All Things Digital says its Microsoft sources say Ballmer is wide open to the idea. (Interestingly, they say he has no interest in Palm.)
So, just more rumors as we have seen in the past? Or more wishful thinking on the part of Microsoft?…weigh in leave a comment.

RIM own’s a patent for a device which suggests a dual keyboard; alpha in landscape orientation and numeric when the keypad is flipped and in portrait orientation. The drawings don’t clearly show what I’m talking about so you can either take my word for it or try reading the the official patent yourself. Now just
BlackBerry Torch 9800 Review

There is one thing to say about the brand-new AT&T-powered BlackBerry Torch 9800: it starts up a hell of a lot faster than its immediate predecessor, the 9700. That’s kind of the theme of the entire operation: the Torch is a BlackBerry device, but faster, deeper, and similarly infuriating as any before it. The Design
RIM Walks Us Through Recovering A Bricked BlackBerry

Personally, I’ve never gotten a 507 error without forcing it, but I know people who have ended up with 507 errors or bricked BlackBerrys and had no idea why. One of RIM’s weak points has been educating carriers and subscribers on the 507 error. Pretty much anyone who calls their carriers tech support when their device is bricked, is

I got an email in my inbox this morning telling me that Dropbox for BlackBerry beta had been updated to version 3. So far the update has proven quite good, and stability has improved. I am running the app on a BlackBerry Torch 9800, and it seems to be pretty robust. Improvements, according to the
BlackBerry Bold R020 To Replace 9700

The ink is barely dry on all the wasted Torch 9800 marketing, but, low and behold BlackBerry fan-boys have something else to drool over. Leaks of the BlackBerry 9780 (or R020 as it’s coded on this internal document) have been consistent and now internal documents show that it does exist, with a release date literally
Facebook for BlackBerry v1.8.0.49 available in App World!
about 1 year ago - View Comments
Facebook v1.8.0.49 is now available in App World. I’m not sure if it’s available for all devices as of yet, but I just downloaded it on my 9700. The UI seems slightly cleaner than the previous beta/leaked v1.8.0.31. I haven’t really played with it yet so I can’t comment on any other findings or fixes.
