Now up is the Nokia Lumia 800: Nokia’s Windows Phone flagship device. The 800 has a 3.7″ AMOLED screen with ClearBlack technology and Gorilla Glass; as well the screen is slightly curved to look like the screen is just floating below the glass. Another noticeable feature is the blend between the end of the screen and the beginning of the bezel. The back has a single piece of polycarbonate body so you no longer have to worry about any paint chipping; it comes in black, cyan or magenta . Up on top, doors flip open to reveal the micro-USB charger port and the SIM slot; doors that fit so well you’d barely know they’re there. A 3.5mm headphone jack is up on the top as well. The right side of the phone has the  volume rocker and power button, along with the dedicated camera button, and the left is completely bare except for a speaker down on the bottom.

The phone bears an eight megapixel camera – similar to the N9 – complete with a Carl Zeiss lens withan  f/2.2 aperture lens and 720p HD video with continuous auto-focus. The dedicated camera button is pretty amazing, you are able to use it without unlocking your phone, to avoid missing perfect moments.

The Lumia 800 and 710 come with Nokia Drive, a free turn-by-turn voice navigation program, a first for any Windows Phone. There is also Nokia Music with Mix Radio, a global service with no subscriptions or log-ins required and also comes with ESPN-hub, you wont find any of these on any other Windows Phone devices.

Overall, the Lumia 800 has been the best smartphone I have ever used. I love what Nokia does hardware wise, pair that with the Windows Phone 7 OS and you have one amazing device. Even though the processor is only a single core, I found there to be no lags (although time will tell on this one once the phone is loaded with apps and games) and didn’t notice any issues opening apps, web browsing, sending email, and checking up on contacts.

Full specs for the Lumia 800:

quad-band GSM device with 14.4Mbps HSDPA speeds

single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor

512MB of memory

five-ounce, 12.1mm-thick frame.

3.7-inch AMOLED display has an 800 x 480 resolution

8-megapixel camera captures 720p video

1450mAh battery good for approximately 9.5 hours of 3G talk time.

Stay tuned for the hands-on video coming shortly.

Nice. Looks like a pretty decent phone. Lots of great features.

I would not be disappointed if I had one. My only concern is that with the market flooded as it is with the Android and iPhone and their top of the line phones it may be over looked based solely on the specs and OS. Nokia has a great opportunity to change minds and it seems to be starting out on the right foot. WP7 in my opinion is a great OS and if given a chance will take off.

Additionally I have had an iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android device. WP7 is the better of the 4…everyone I have shown my HTC Arrive to has said Wow great phone.
