We’re not sure what to make of this one, but according to MobileSyrup, Canadians will soon be able to buy the iPhone 4 at a reduced rate. According to the site’s tipsters, all carriers that currently offer the device will be cutting the 3-year contract price of the 16GB model from $169.99 to $99.99. The 32GB model is expected to retain its $269.99 price tag. There’s virtually no chance that a new iPhone will go on sale or even be announced before this date, so the possibility of a drop in price is puzzling considering iPhone price drops have only ever occurred after the announcement of a new iPhone.
