Last week it was announced that I had been selected by Samsung to be part of their “Mob!lers” pilot project, thus becoming a Samsung product evangelist. What better way to follow up last week’s video blog showcasing the BlackBerry Torch 9800, than to go back to the streets with more goodness. This time around we [...]

What, you thought Telus wouldn’t respond today as well? Fresh off the heels of Rogers’ announcement this morning, Telus has issued a release that they too intend on launching the Torch on September 24th, as well. No official word on pricing, but expect it to match Rogers’ at $199.99 on a 3 year voice and [...]

By now you may have lost a guy or girl and have decided that your neurotic tendencies have led you to only date someone of the opposite phone species. Atleast in this way, you won’t be tortured by that received checkmark on BBM and not agonize over the unresponsive nature of your new crush. So [...]

There is one thing to say about the brand-new AT&T-powered BlackBerry Torch 9800: it starts up a hell of a lot faster than its immediate predecessor, the 9700. That’s kind of the theme of the entire operation: the Torch is a BlackBerry device, but faster, deeper, and similarly infuriating as any before it. The Design [...]

BlackBerry Bold 9780 Coming to Rogers Mid-November?

Now, we at TCG don’t take rumours lightly. We always weigh the value of posting one, and the potential repercussions at posting a bunk one. That being said, one of our anonymous tipsters has sent us pretty convincing proof that Rogers will be getting the BlackBerry Bold 9780 towards the end of this year, namely [...]

iPhone 4 “Bumper” cases begin shipping to Canadians

Better late than never, right? Just over a month after getting my receptional-y challenged  iPhone 4 (having placed the order like many other Canadians for the free bumper), the glorious email has finally arrived on my device confirming that the bumper is on its way. Have I actually waited this long to get a free [...]

iOS 4.1 HDR Photos Are Pretty Amazing

photo 2

Just wanted to quickly show off these shots I received showing off the new HDR capabilities in iOS 4.1. I’m told it shows up as a toggle, much like how flash is enabled/disabled. Photos will take an extra second or two to process and the original copy is saved (although that can be turned off). [...]

Nokia and Swype: A winning combination

I can honestly say that the integration of Swype into Android with the Samsung Galaxy S was the best thing to happen to a touch screen keyboard since auto-correct. It seriously changes the way you send an email/text. And should Apple ever incorporate it as a functionality into their iOS, fanboys may actually be tempted [...]

BlackBerry 9670 Clamshell to be released as “Style”?

For one of the ugliest devices to ever leave the doors of  Waterloo, this device has surely received a lot of attention. From the day is was first leaked (some 3 months ago) it has been at the butt- end of many a joke. At first it was code-named “Oxford”, than many thought it would [...]

Virgin Mobile to launch the BlackBerry Torch 9800 on September 24th

And the announcement has come, albeit over twitter. Virgin Mobile (a Bell subsidiary) will release their BlackBerry Torch 9800 on September 24th,  right in line with everyone else. They didn’t give pricing details, but I doubt they will undercut their parent company in Bell, so expect it to be $199.99 on a 3 year term.

BlackBerry Tip: When and how to execute a security wipe

Security wipe

It’s pretty clear that RIM has realized the importance of social media this year. Even though smartphone and BlackBerry oriented blogs have been providing readers with a wealth of information for the longest time, it still makes sense that RIM does the same. It’s surprising that RIM has not sent out mass emails to make [...]
